Agon: Kryos, Isle of Storms

The mists part, and the Heroes' ship lands on the shores of the Kryos, the Isle of Storms. However, the infamous storm clouds are nowhere to be seen. All is in turmoil—people rush to and fro, wailing in panic. “It’s gone!” they cry. “The pirate queen has stolen the Pillar of Storms! We are defenseless! The harpies shall slay us!” The heroes are entreated to save the people, but factions of the island can't agree on how to right the wrongs. Who will the heroes side with and how will they bring peace to the island?

In Agon, you create and play greek heroes, crafting their epic tale into an immortal legend. On their way back home from the war, the heroes have become lost among strange islands populated by mythical creatures, dire beasts, treacherous landscapes, legendary kingdoms, and desperate people—all somehow cursed or abandoned by the cruel power of the capricious gods. It falls to you to seize this opportunity for greatness—to set things right in these lost lands, overcome the trials of gods, monsters, and people, prove the glory of your name, and win your way back home.

Starfinder SFS #3-11: Into the Veskarium

A series of four Starfinder Quests designed for levels 3-6.

The Veskarium, a stellar civilization of conquest founded by the vesk, has long been an enemy of the Pact Worlds. When the Swarm threat unexpectedly attacked both civilizations, the Pact Worlds and Veskarium formed and uneasy alliance to combat their mutual foe. Since then, the two empires have maintained semi-cordial relations, and the worlds of the Veskarium have seen a larger influx of visitors from the Pact Worlds. Of all the organizations to benefit from the warmer relations between the two powers, none are perhaps more interested in exploring the Veskarium than the Starfinder Society. Thanks to the Society’s recent successes, the Veskarium has finally agreed to allow select teams of Starfinder agents to travel into the Veskarium and perform missions of archaeological investigation and exploration.

Playing a Medium length mode of the amazing "Archipelago", along with the "War and Peace" Expansion. Aiming for 4 players to keep the game-time tight, estimating between 2.5-3.5 hours.

See these videos for more info to learn more about the game -
Review - https://youtu.be/KeHUkmd_T1s

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/105551/archipelago

In Archipelago, players are Renaissance European powers competing in the exploration of a Pacific or Caribbean archipelago. They will explore territories, harvest resources, use those resources in markets both internal (for their use and that of the natives) and foreign (to sell it in Europe), build markets, harbors, cities and temples, and negotiate among themselves (and maybe betray each other) – all this to complete their secret objectives. They will also need to guess the secret objective of the other players to be able to benefit from them.

But players also need to be careful of the natives; if they make them too unhappy or if too many of them are unoccupied, they could revolt and declare independence. Then everyone will lose!

According to the author, what he's tried to create is a "German" economic worker-placement game, but without the two things he dislikes in them: the superficial theme and the lack of interaction. Indeed this game includes a very present theme and a lot of negotiation and potential backstabbing.

Interested Players - If you are Interested in the game but cannot make it to this session, we will be playing the more challenging "Long" mode of the game in another game on the calendar. Feel free to come by if interested in case we have no-show players.

Castles & Crusades - Rising Knight (A0)

The vicious warlord "Gritznak the Bold" has taken up residence near the small frontier village of Malforten and demanded tributes from the villagers with increasing frequency. More alarmingly, he has started to abduct those that cannot meet his demands. Though the citizens of Malforten are tough, they have thus far been helpless against the brute strength and cruelty of Gritznak and his followers, their attempts to resist him only emboldening him further. With no support from their kingdom this far out on the frontier, they have collectively offered up a bounty for the creature’s head which our party of adventurers will seek to claim.

Rising Knight is an introductory module for the "Castles & Crusades" TTRPG by Troll Lord Games. This system has an old-school feel and is designed to be easy to learn, suitable for players of any experience level. Pre-generated characters will be available, but players are welcome to roll their own character sheet if desired. All materials needed for the game will be provided by the GM.

Pathfinder PFS2-3-13: Guardian's Covenant

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 3rd- through 6th-level characters.

Heed the call for heroes! After assisting the people of Port Valen and protecting the town from rampaging trolls, the Society earned the approval of the settlement's leaders to establish a new Pathfinder lodge in the former feasting hall of the legendary warrior Sveinn Blood-Eagle. After enduring several months of dangerous ocean voyages to supply the new lodge and assist the town, venture-captains Bjersig Torrsen and Calisro Bennary requested permission for the Society to connect their new lodge in Port Valen to the Maze of the Open Road. By using the mystical extraplanar hedge maze, the venture-captains hope to strengthen the Society's presence in Arcadia. Rather than establish such a connection on their own, the venture-captains consulted Port Valen's leaders to determine the most responsible means of opening the portal. Their careful research brought them to a fey guardian in the Forest of Trials. The guardian readily agreed to the Society's proposal, on one condition. To keep the portal opened, the Society must regularly send heroes to perform heroic deeds in and around the Forest of Trials!

Imagine Bakshi’s classic animated film Wizards has a head-on collision with Disney’s Treasure Planet and the resulting fire is put out with a whole lot of Studio Ghibli’s Castle in the Sky. That, in an unexpected, animated mash-up, is Upwind.

Upwind is a narrative style RPG set in a strange alternate world of floating island nations, flying sailing ships, long-lost technology, wild elemental powers, looming war and forgotten legacies.

Upwind is powered by the Q system, an original stakes-based, playing card-driven mechanic that gives every encounter consequences with meaningful, narrative-building outcomes. With its unique bidding rules, Upwind plays as fast as you can tell your story.

Pathfinder PFS2-4-02: Return to the Grave

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters.

Following the desolation of Lastwall at the hands of the Whispering Tyrant, untold horrors wander the woods and roads of the region now known as the Gravelands. Many small refugee settlements are scattered throughout the area, their citizens either helplessly trapped behind enemy lines, or stubbornly hoping that they won’t be noticed by Tar-Baphon’s undead armies.

One such settlement became a new home for a Pathfinder agent—a dedicated member of the Radiant Oath faction—who had been traveling in Lastwall when the nation fell. The agent decided to help those in need rather than flee the Gravelands, and they’ve managed to keep the settlement protected… so far.

Now, with the settlement burgeoning with refugees and the Whispering Tyrant’s forces drawing near, the agent has made a desperate attempt to reach a Pathfinder lodge in Ustalav. They barely made it out alive—and now they’re asking for agents to return to the Gravelands and aid their stranded friends!

Archipelago (2012) - Long Length Game Mode

Playing a Long length mode of the amazing "Archipelago", along with the "War and Peace" Expansion. Aiming for 4 players to keep the game-time tight, estimating between 3.5-4.5 hours.

See these videos for more info to learn more about the game -
Review - https://youtu.be/KeHUkmd_T1s
Learn To Play - https://youtu.be/QHq46yHFJeA
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/105551/archipelago

Castles & Crusades - A Darker Shade of Ale

North of the port city of Torrich lies the town of Dewhurst, a travel hub on the road to Aufstrag. As a popular trading route, the town has always been host to a mixing pot of many sorts of folk. However, recently some of the traders and travelers have vanished without a trace, all of them being of Elven and Dwarvish descent. Rumors have spread that an evil sorcerer has been kidnapping the poor souls for use in their twisted experiments. Now the very livelihood of the town is at risk as many travelers have become wary of passing through, and many of the trade-goods offered by the Elves and Dwarves are becoming scarce. Our adventuring party has been tasked with investigating the disappearances and bringing their captor to swift justice.

A Darker Shade of Ale is an adventure for the "Castles & Crusades" TTRPG by Troll Lord Games. Dresden Files Accelerated: We'll Always Have Parish

Neither are they the gravest.

Pathfinder PFS2-4-05: The Arclord Who Never Was

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters.

A skull with glowing eyes was among the many objects which recently turned up in the Pathfinder Society's vaults, and none of the other objects are quite so talkative as this one! In fact, the skull isn't an object at all, but a person. The Society isn't sure who, or what, they are, and the skull seems to have lost their memories. Nonetheless, the skulls requests—no, insists—that the Society return them to their former glory at once!

Grand Archivist Zarta Dralneen has determined that the skull is from Quantium, the magic-filled capital of Nex. She dispatches a group of Pathfinders to conduct a simple research mission and guide the skull around the city, hoping to jar the skull's memories and learn the truth.

Castles & Crusades - The Wizard's Tower

On a hillside overlooking the quaint village of Lead Hill stands the Meadow Tower, constructed long ago by the mage Andru as both a residence and laboratory for himself and his wife. Andru served the village for many years, his sorcery not only driving off any invaders, but also assisting with more mundane tasks such as building and irrigation. As of late, some trouble has befallen Lead Hill, with many items, livestock, and even some villagers going missing. The community sought Andru’s aide once more, but curiously found that he has locked himself in his tower, his wife mentioning only that he is busy diligently working on a rather difficult sorcery. Desperate, the villagers have offered a reward to anyone that can investigate and subdue whatever is causing the mischief.

Wizard’s Tower is an adventure for the "Castles & Crusades" TTRPG by Troll Lord Games. Root: The Roleplaying Game (Talon Hill)

Root: the Roleplaying Game is a game of woodland creatures fighting for money, justice, and freedom from powers far greater than them. You play vagabonds, outcasts from the normal society of the woodlands who have come to live in the spaces between, whether that’s in the forests themselves or on the fringes of society.

In this session based on the Talon Hill Quickstart, the vagabonds enter a fox clearing trapped in the turmoil of a major succession crisis! Thurgud, Theodora, and Gaius, three royal birds claiming lineages from the ancient and important Kingfishers' family, all squabble over who will rule the roost since Lady Morgana Kingfisher passed away without naming an heir. They've all turned their eyes to the historical seat of Eyrie power in Talon Hill, Augustine Castle, where supposedly the grand relics -- and symbols of office -- of the Kingfisher family lay buried. Will the Vagabonds aid one of the would-be successors in the greatest heist the Eyrie have ever known? Who else in Talon Hill could stake their own claim as a long lost heir? And while the birds are away, the mice will play; as power shifts in Talon Hill, the local crime syndicate and a newly established lizard cult orphanage both have their own agendas. With Thurgud's High Guard, Theodora's Silver Talons, and Gaius' Riverfolk mercenaries all in town, it's getting to be VERY crowded!

Ahoy

From Leder Games, maker of Root and Oath, comes a game of swashbucklers and soldiers seeking Fame on the high seas. It features Leder's signature asymetical game play, but lighter weight than their previous games.

One player controls the Bluefin Squadron, a company of sharks and their toothy friends, who patrol these waters and keep order with shot and sword. Another player controls the Mollusk Union, an alliance of undersea creatures and their comrades-in-arms, who fight to reclaim their ancestral home. Other players control Smugglers, maverick captains who run blockades to smuggle luxuries and essentials, delivering them to those with the most need—or the most coin. Explore the seas, creating a unique map full of treasure troves, dangerous wreckage, and mighty sea currents.

No experience is necessary, rules will be taught.

Creature Comforts

In Creature Comforts, you spend the Spring, Summer, and Fall gathering different goods from the forest and spending them to collect items that will make your home more inviting while the world outside is covered in a layer of snow. Each round you send family members out to various locations in an attempt to gain supplies. If they fall short of their goal, they’ll learn a lesson and be better prepared next time. Encyclopedia

Welcome to Encyclopedia! The year is 1739, and as aspiring naturalists and adventurers, you’ve been hired by the Comte de Buffon - Darwin's predecessor - to help him create the first encyclopedia of natural history. To do so, you’ll be conducting research, organizing ambitious expeditions and publishing studies of the world’s most fascinating creatures!

Encyclopedia is a dice-based worker placement game. You’ll be drawing and rolling dice, then placing them on your player board. These dice can then be used to perform an action each turn, depending on their color and value. Prepare your expeditions by going to the Embassy, visit the Bank to raise funds, or hire your research team at the University. Once you’re ready to go, you’ll choose the Animal cards you wish to study, then organize expeditions. When your research is complete, you’ll be able to publish your findings to be the biggest contributor to Buffon’s Encyclopedia. Every publication you make will earn you Victory points, and at the end of the game, you’ll score points based on collections of Animals and research amassed during play. The naturalist with the most points wins!

This is intended as a learning game. The game presenter will be familiar with the rules, but has not played a full game. Join in for a fun session.
